The first of a 3-part series (trilogy?), Legacy I details our first reactions and lamentations upon the passing of our mentor. He was a great man who gave us more time and attention than we deserved, but it was his influence that helped shape us into the men we are now and are still striving to be. He was a built boats and burned popcorn. Most of all, he taught us, by word and action, what was important in life - family, integrity, stewardship, and communion with Christ.
lyrics
A house is not a home until it's full of folks, and there is love.
When you were there, we were there.
The endless Jelly Beans and popcorn burning up.
When you were there, we were there.
I am scared of mix tapes and misspelling my best friend's name.
And I have nightmares of forgetting everything you ever said.
Because your ship has sailed to a better place.
And the ocean will never be the same.
“We'll never crash that way again,”
The blue and foaming waves cry.
I'm afraid I'll forget every little thing you ever said.
Your house was a home and so full of love, before and then.
When you were there, He was there.
And one day we'll take the bread and cup again.
And you'll be there. He'll be there.
